The first players to cash in the inaugural event of the 2012 Borgata Fall Poker Open have already collected their $1,018 pay day.
Christine Brewer (Port Monmouth, NJ) finished in 140th place when her pocket 8s were no good from the small blind.
"First to cash, that's kind of a consolation prize," says Brewer, who got part of her payout in green ($25) chips as she heads to the cash tables.
John Dickerson (Egg Harbor Twp., NJ) was next to go and also glad to make the money after his stack was crippled before the bubble. Dickerson says his opponent went runner-runner gutshot straight against his two pairs.
Also on the rail, but in the money are Steve Fiorentini (Winchester, MA) and Alex Queen (Bethlehem, PA).
Hand-for-hand play lasted 12 minutes, so half the time is back on the clock with play resuming at 40 minutes left on Level 19 (4k/8k/1k ante).
The gold (25k) chips are now in play after the removal of the purple (500) chips.
