$300 + $40 Big Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)
Big hands and fast action were the keys to this tournament and in the end it's Jason Nagers (Prince Fredrick, MD) who takes the trophy and the $14,493 top prize in this event of the Borgata Fall Poker Open.
Nagers had a dominating chip stack when he was heads up with Stephen Scales (Red Bank, NJ) and finished the job on the first hand after he knocked out David Caputo (Staten Island, NY) in third place ($4,589) with a flopped straight. Scales bagged $7,971 as runner-up.
Nagers run at the title began when he got into a 1.3 million chip pot with WSOP bracelet holder Chris Reslock (Atlantic City, NJ) just before the final table.
Nagers flopped a pair of kings and faded Reslock's flush draw to claim the chip lead. Reslock, left with only 10k, was eliminated in 11th place ($966) on the next hand.
The final table featured multiple Borgata regulars including Leanne Rosenblatt (4th) who reached her second final table of the series (Event 6, 2nd Place / $3,210). Also in the final ten were Asa Berger (5th), Lana O'Brien (7th) and Kori Hunter (10th).
The field began with 166 entries for a total buy-in of $49,800.
Just missing the money was former chip leader Andrew Interdonato (Washington, DC) who lost to a four flush, two spots from the money.
