Kenny Confirms Pahuja's Chip Count
There were no surprises on the last few hands as Vinny Pahuja (Hicksville, NY) bags the chip lead with 411,800 and the $3,000 bonus. Matt Stout (Las Vegas, NV) is second with 349,800 to earn $2,000 as runner-up.
After Pahuja folds his last hand of the night, Stout yells across the room, "you're safe, I don't think I can win 70,000 on this hand," and with that Stout folds. The two had been the top stacks since before dinner break and were never threatened the rest of the way.
Approximately 60 players remain (28% of the starting 216), putting the average stack at 108k (54 bb) when play resumes with blinds at 1k/2k/200 ante.
Day 1A finishers have Monday off as they wait for Day 1B to play before returning noon Tuesday for Day 2.
Here's a look at the big stacks.
Vinny Pahuja 411,800
Matt Stout 349,800
