Putting a Hurwitz on the Rest of the Table
Dave Hurwitz (W. Berlin, NJ) was left with one 500 chip ante, but has taken the chip and a chair mantra to a whole new level.
Hurwitz doesn't even know how many times he's double-up, "six or eight, I guess," and has gone from out the door to out in front.
His latest and biggest double-up comes through dinner break chip leader Grace Sun (Merrick, NY) in a 650k chip pot.
With blinds at 6k/12k/1k ante, Hurwitz raises to 50k and Sun moves all in for 319k. Hurwitz snap calls and has the best of it with AK vs Sun's AQ.
Hurwitz has Sun covered by 25k and is now one of the chip leaders. His first double-up came with trip 4s against pocket jacks while holding J 4.
Sun is out in 58th place and takes home $600.
